Boggo Road Busway Impact

Anatomy Thanksgiving Service – Expressions of Appreciation

The annual Anatomy Thanksgiving Service recognises the generosity of anatomy donors who provide a remarkable opportunity for study and research at UQ. Imagine trying to learn anatomy without this unique gift. UQMS is now calling for expressions of appreciation that we will collate into a booklet and give to each donor’s family as a token of appreciation from the medical student body. Messages need not be long and may address a variety of topics including your experiences, appreciation and respect. Please send messages to admin@uqms.org by Friday 24 April and indicate whether you would like to remain anonymous or be identified by your first name and year level. The service will be held on Wednesday 6 May at 5:30pm in the UQ Centre.

Careers and Specialties Evening

New Date – 30th of April, 6:30pm – Hawken Lecture Theatre. Find out all about your future career. Such questions will be answered: What specialty should I choose? What perks will such a specialty provide me with? How do I become a specialist in such a specialty? More details on the speakers attending coming soon.

ANZAC Day Tribute

Each year on the last working day prior to ANZAC Day, the UQMS stops to remember our medical colleagues and countrymen who sacrificed their lives to defend our freedom, in particular we remember 14 past members of the UQMS who have died on duty in the defence of our Nation.

This year the UQMS ANZAC Tribute Service will be held on the Memorial Lawn in front of the Mayne Medical School, Herston on the 24th April at 9 am. We are honoured this year to be hosting Major-General Maurie McNarn AO as guest speaker. A short morning tea will be served at the conclusion of the service.

All Staff and Students of the Medical School are invited to attend the service.
